NEW SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Making a big difference
If you are looking for a special way to make a difference in the lives of animals at the Sacramento SPCA, look no further. You can either make a general donation to help provide care in many areas of need or you can choose a specific program to support. The Feral Cat Spay/ Neuter Clinic and the We Pay to Spay program are just a couple of the new sponsorship opportunities now available.
FERAL/COMMUNITY CAT SPONSORSHIP
In collaboration with local community cat partners and funding
provided by Coalition for Community Cats (C4CC) and the County of
Sacramento, the Sacramento SPCA holds weekly feral cat
spay/neuter clinics each Sunday of the month to help manage the
population of community cats. These clinics are
specifically held to for feral and free-roaming cats in our
region that have been trapped the day before the clinic.
When funding is not available, the cost to the public is $17 per
cat. To continue offering this service at no cost, the Sacramento
SPCA is excited to offer a clinic sponsorship opportunity to the
cat and kitten lovers in our community. The commitment to
sponsor one Sunday per month is $1,500. This
will allow up to 88 cats to be altered, ear tipped and vaccinated
in one day. We currently have 11 opportunities available.
WE PAY TO SPAY SPONSORSHIP
Did you know the average size of a Pit Bull or Pit Bull Mix (Pit
Bull/Mix) litter is 5 to 10 puppies? While all breeds are
at risk for overpopulation and homelessness, a high percentage of
animals surrendered at community shelters are Pit
Bull/Mixes. To address this issue, the “We Pay to Spay”
(WPTS) program was instituted by the Sacramento SPCA in October
of 2002. Funded by the County of Sacramento and the Sacramento
SPCA, the purpose of the program is to provide free spay or
neuter surgeries for Pit Bull/Mixes within our community.
To date we have sterilized more than 11,000 Pit Bull/Mixes – at
no cost to the owners.
With an operating cost of $60,000 per year to run the WPTS program, we need your help. Your onetime gift of $600 will cover one full day of surgeries – that’s 6 to 8 Pit Bull/Mixes that will be spayed or neutered. We currently have 50 opportunities available for sponsorship.
NAMING OPPORTUNITIES
Each year, there are more animals in need of homes than there are
homes available to adopt them. As demand for our services
continues to grow, the Sacramento SPCA is pleased to offer naming
opportunities as a way to help homeless pets in our community.
You can choose to feature your name or the name of a
beloved person or pet on any of the available locations.
Your generosity will provide shelter, high quality medical
care, and homes for thousands of animals that many never have had
a chance without your help. Click here to review a list
of available naming opportunities.
