I have a question about a donation I already made. Who can I call? Please call the Development Department at 916-504-2803.

Do I get a tax-deductible receipt for my donation? Yes, you will receive an acknowledgement letter within one week of making your donations. If you make an online donation, you will automatically get an emailed receipt, as well as an acknowledgement letter in the mail.

What is the Sacramento SPCA’s tax identification number? Our Tax ID or EIN number is 94-1312343.

Do you sell my name to other organizations? No, we do not sell or exchange our donor names, addresses or emails to other nonprofits or companies.

I’m not comfortable making a gift online. How can I send or call in a donation? You can mail a check to the Sacramento SPCA, Attn: Development at 6201 Florin-Perkins Rd. Sacramento, CA 95828. Or, you can call 916-504-2803 or 2843 to make a credit card donation over the phone.

I want to make a memorial/honorarium gift but don’t want to do it online. How can I mail it in? You can mail your memorial/honorarium gift to: Sacramento SPCA, Attn: Development. 6201 Florin Perkins Rd., Sacramento, CA 95828. Please include your name, message, who the donation is in memory of in honor of and who we should send the acknowledgement to.

I ordered a brick and don’t see it in the sidewalk yet. Where is it? Bricks normally take 4-6 weeks to arrive. Once they arrive, our maintenance staff has to insert the bricks into the sidewalk of the Adoptions building, which can also take time depending on the needs of the shelter. It can take up to a total of 12 weeks before the bricks are placed. If you have questions, please call 916-504-2803.

I make a monthly gift but my credit card expired (or I lost it). How can I give you my updated credit card information? Please call us at 916-504-2803.

I want to make a donation of items for the shelter and/or thrift store. What time can I drop those off and what items won’t you accept? We can accept in-kind donations at the shelter Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Book donations may be brought to the shelter or the Adoptable Goods thrift store. Call the thrift store for hours to donate at 916-442-8118. Listed below are items we cannot accept as donations:    

  • office furniture
  • exercise equipment
  • computers and computer related items more than 4 years old (scanners, monitors, printers, etc)
  • mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards, bed pillows
  • stroller, high chairs, baby furniture  
  • child car seat
  • any broken items or items with missing parts
  • stained, torn or damaged items
  • un-assembled furniture   
  • large amounts of out-of-season items
  • ceiling fans
  • large appliances (washers, dryers, fridge, etc)
  • typewriters
  • flammable items (gas cans, cylinders, etc)
  • entertainment centers
