        ABOUT CHRIS
How long have you been with the Sacramento SPCA
  Board?
  About 2 years now.
  Where do you live?
I live in Folsom and have been in the Sacramento area for about
  25 years now.
Tell us a little about your day, what do you do, what
  have you done?
I’m the medical director and a board-certified critical care
specialist at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center.  I
work mostly in the ER and ICU, so I take care of seriously
injured or sick animals, then do a LOT of paperwork.  I love
music, and listen to spotify as much as I can.  I run, play
video games, and hang out with my family and friends as much as
  possible in my free time.
Any past affiliations you would like to
  share?
I went to UCLA for undergrad, and UCDavis for my Veterinary
  School training and residency.
What unique talents and skills do you bring to the SSPCA
  board?
Hmm, I still haven’t found a solid use for being able to stuff 10
full sized marshmallows in my mouth, so maybe I’ll find a use for
that while I’m on the Sacramento SPCA board. That being
said, I have been a clinical instructor for veterinary medicine
for over 30 years, so developing and supporting the training
programs at the SPCA should be right up my alley.  Being a
medical director, and through supporting the community doing
private volunteer work, I have organizational, communication, and
leadership skills that I can use to help as well.
We would love to hear about your family, starting with
  your pets…
I have two dogs, Callie, a 10year old Border Collie, and Levi, a
4yr old Shepherd.  I have an amazing wife, Jodi, who does HR
work, and two awesome adult children, Lauren and Alec, who are
  out conquering the world.
Finally, what excites you about being part of the SSPCA
  board of directors?
I am looking forward to working with such a talented group of
people to support the Sacramento SPCA.  I think I’ll learn
and gain more skills as we all work together to help animals, and
the people who love them in the Sacramento region.
