Camp Kindness

General information

2026 Camp Kindness Dates & Information

Camp Kindness is an educational camp designed for children ages 7-9 and 10-12 interested in learning about animal welfare and becoming future pet owners. During our camp sessions, children learn about proper pet care, pet safety, pet interaction and how these topics relate to the Sacramento community. Some examples of camp activities include shelter pet socialization, dog body language lesson, crafting, and educational presentations from different Sacramento SPCA departments and outside organizations. This camp involves a lot of hands-on activities, team collaboration, and crafts.

Camp Kindness runs from 9am-2pm each day.

SPRING CAMP

Spring into shelter life at the Sacramento SPCA! During our spring camp, campers will learn about the Sacramento SPCA, safe animal interactions, and have the opportunity to engage with shelter animals, including dogs, kittens and small animals. Campers will create engaging spring-themed crafts that will help the animals bloom into their best selves, all while learning about animal enrichment. Camp Kindness’ spring camp is a fun way to learn about and help animals, rain or shine!

Help Us Set up Your Kids for Success!

Ensuring the safety of both the humans and animals visiting the shelter is our number one priority during Camp Kindness. To provide the best experience for the kids and animals in our care, we ask that parents inform our Humane Education staff in advance about any special accommodations (physical, behavioral and sensory) your child needs to ensure positive human and animal interactions.
