Taylor Morrison Homes has sponsored all adoptions for dogs 5 years and older, cats one year and older, and rabbits one year and older through the week of March 21st through the 25th.

Founded in 1894, the Sacramento SPCA has been providing homeless animals with individual comfort, shelter, and love for more than 122 years.  The Sacramento SPCA accepts owner surrendered animals from the community in and around Sacramento. Many of these pets are senior dogs and cats that families can no longer afford for care for as health issues arise. Nearly one in five of animals brought to the Sacramento SPCA require medical care prior to adoption. A common course of treatment is the “senior special” where an animal receives a blood panel to rule out underlying issues and a dental cleaning with extractions to treat dental disease.

Taylor Morrison Homes has realized the challenges that senior pets face when competing for homes with younger animals like puppies and kittens. With kitten season right around the corner, Taylor Morrison wants to shed the spotlight on our seniors. They have generously sponsored adoption fees for these animals in the hopes that they will find loving homes. These adoption fees cover each pet’s spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea prevention, microchip, pet food starter kit and a veterinary exam.

“We are thrilled to partner with Taylor Morrison Homes to help give our ‘silver snouts’ a better chance of finding their new families,” said Sarah Varanini, PR & Social Media Specialist at the Sacramento SPCA. “Many of our seniors have been waiting months to find a home, and we hope the sponsored adoption fees will inspire the community to open their hearts to an older pet.”
