Pat was elected to the Sacramento SPCA Board of Directors in January 2020 and is the Chief Communications Officer for VSP Global.

“Every animal who comes to the Sacramento SPCA has a story and we are lucky to have Pat on our board as we work to share those stories across our communities,” said Sacramento SPCA CEO, Kenn Altine.

After moving to Sacramento in 1992, Pat worked for two years at Loaves & Fishes Mustard Seed School, an emergency school for homeless children. Following, Pat managed a case load for adults with developmental disabilities while working at the Alta California Regional Center for seven years.

Pat found his way to VSP Global where he has been for the past seventeen years and was appointed Chief Communications Officer in 2015. During his career at VSP Global, Pat has helped build a public relations team that once consisted of one media relations and two community relations employees. Today the VSP Global Corporate Communications Division has thirty employees and provides expertise in areas including social media, public relations, public affairs, corporate social responsibility, crisis communications, CEO communications and global integrated message management.

Pat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University. Pat and his wife, Erica, have two kids, one dog, one cat, a hamster, four fish and two frogs. When not working, Pat runs up a hill or two in preparation for his next trail run.
