PRIVATE BEHAVIOR CONSULTATIONS
Do you have a dog with a behavior issue?
Need immediate help with your new puppy?
Is your dog timid or aggressive toward people or other dogs?
The Sacramento SPCA offers low-cost private consultations where you and your dog can receive one-on-one attention to address your dog's behavior issue(s).
An initial consultation, which includes an assessment of your dog, along with discussion and demonstration of behavior modification methods, is 90 minutes long and costs $75. If your dog was adopted from the Sacramento City (on Front St.) or County (on Bradshaw Rd.) shelters, the inital session fee is only $65, and if you are a senior (60+) the fee is $55.
For dogs adopted from the Sacramento SPCA within the last year we offer an initial one-hour session for no charge, or a 90-minute session for $25. If you adopted more than a year ago the 90-minute session is $65.
Additional sessions of 45 minutes each cost $45 for the general public, $40 for dogs adopted at the SPCA or at the Sacramento City or County shelters, and $35 for seniors. Additional sessions are scheduled on an as-needed basis as agreed upon by the behavior counselors and the client.
Consultations are held at the SPCA and are by appointment only. To schedule, please call our Behavior Helpline at 916-504-2848 or email behavior@sspca.org. If you've scheduled a consultation, please print and fill out our Private Consultation Form before you come.
