The Sacramento SPCA hosts numerous annual events as a way to involve the community in its mission to help abandoned and unwanted animals find the love and care they deserve. Through special events, the Sacramento SPCA is able to raise necessary funding for the thousands of animals that come to our shelter each year. Our doors stay open through memberships, donations and special events, as the Sacramento SPCA receives no government funding.

Paws, Pals & Putts Golf Tournament - May 7, 2012
The Sacramento SPCA will host our 3rd Annual Paws, Pals & Putts Golf Tournament at Del Paso Country Club on May 7, 2012.  This fundraising event features an 18-hole golf scramble, awards dinner and live and silent auctions.  Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the SPCA Senior Services Program, providing services to ensure the continued relationship between Sacramento area seniors and their pets.  For information call 916-504-2802 or email azablah@sspca.org.  To register for the tournament, click here.  To purchase dinner tickets, click here.

Annual Book Sales - April and November
Each year, the Sacramento SPCA holds two of the largest annual book sales in Northern California. The four-day Fall Book Sale features thousands of books - all bargains - covering a wide range of categories. Our nine-day Spring Book Sale is held each April and features numerous categories of books for sale. DOGGY DASH - June 9, 2012
The Doggy Dash, one of the Sacramento SPCA's most anticipated events, is held in the spring. This fundraising event allows canines to team up with their human companions in a scenic fun walk to help raise money for the shelter animals. After the walk, participants stroll through Vendors' Row, where they may purchase products and get information from their favorite pet specialty shops and other area businesses. Plus, participants and their canine cohorts can compete in a frisbee contest or the Pup Show, or take a seat on the sidelines as they watch demonstrations and entertainment from agility groups and more.

Help the Sacramento SPCA raise additional money and awareness by collecting pledges! Reigning Cats & Dogs Gala - October 13, 2012
The Sacramento SPCA's premier food and wine tasting gala, Reigning Cats & Dogs, will be held on October 13 at Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa. Join the Sacramento SPCA as we take a step back to the 1920's with the "Great Catsby."  Enjoy local food and drinks from some of the best Sacramento area restaurants, wineries and breweries, a silent and live auction, live music and spectacular entertainment.

Held the first weekend in November, Santa Paws ia a wonderful opportunity to capture your holiday photos with your two- and four-legged friends.  Call 916-504-2802 for additional information.




Third Party Events 
Any organization or group can raise money for the Sacramento SPCA by hosting an independent event or project. Please fill out the Third Party Questionnaire and the Third Party Agreement Form then call the Special Events office at 916-504-2868 or email jbyer@sspca.org, to find out how your organization or group can raise funds for the Sacramento SPCA.
