Canine Good Citizen

General information

Does your dog have what it takes to be a Canine Good Citizen?

Open to all dogs, the Canine Good Citizen exam helps identify dogs who have good manners at home and in the community — and can start them on their journey to becoming a therapy dog.

The exam consists of a 10-part evaluation that includes documentation of your dog’s ability to accept a friendly stranger, sit politely, walk loose on a leash, walk through a crowd, sit and lay down when asked, come when called, react positively to another dog and distraction, and have comfort being separated from their owner.

FEE: $30 for any dog.
