Camp Kindness

General information

Camp Kindness at the Sacramento SPCA is a fun-filled way for kids to learn more about dogs, cats and other companion animals. Designed to foster awareness about animals, Camp Kindness will include games, crafts, tours, guest speakers, animal-related education, professional demonstrations, veterinary observation, discussions, and plenty of fun!

TWO Camp locations are offered this summer (Florin Perkins and Bradshaw locations). Both programs will follow the same schedule with the crafts, kittens and guest speakers.

CALLING ALL TEENS!!! If you are between the ages of 14 and 18, consider applying to be an Assistant Camp Counselor!

Assistant Camp Counselors will work under the supervision of the SSPCA’s Humane Education Manager and will assist with all aspects of Camp Kindness. Duties will include daily set-up and clean-up, assisting campers with craft projects, distributing snacks and other materials, assisting with supervision of animal encounters, and taking out adoptable cats, kittens and puppies for the campers to socialize. It’s a perfect opportunity to complete any Community Service hours for school.

You can apply for one session or multiple, depending on your summer availability. We have two locations to choose from: Florin Perkins and Bradshaw. Be sure to note your preference on your application. To register, complete this online application. We hope to see you at camp!!
