(Sacramento, CA) - The Indigo Girls are coming to Sacramento tomorrow, May 12, and are partnering with the Sacramento SPCA to collect pet food for needy animals. As they tour the United States, the well-known folk duo of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray have been working with Rock for a Remedy Inc. to collect food for needy people during these tough times and decided to partner with a local animal shelter at each concert stop to collect pet food as well.
"During these difficult economic times both people and their pets are in need of assistance," said Rick Johnson, Sacramento SPCA Executive Director. "We're grateful to be working in conjunction with the Indigo Girls to collect pet food for animals owned by the homeless and needy in the Sacramento region."
The Indigo Girls will be performing at the Crest Theater on Tuesday, May 12 at 8PM. Doors open at 7PM and food donations can be brought at that time.
