October 27, 2009

(Sacramento, CA) - The Sacramento SPCA recently received "Best Of" honors from three of Sacramento's top publications.

The SPCA has been named "Best Place to Volunteer" by Sacramento magazine readers, the "Best Place to Adopt a Family Pet" by Sacramento Bee readers, and one of the "Best Places to Volunteer" by Sacramento News and Review readers.

The Sacramento magazine poll named the Sacramento SPCA the "Best Place to Volunteer" in 2005, 2006 and 2007 as well.

"The staff and volunteers at the Sacramento SPCA are very proud to have been honored as "the best" by the readers of three of Sacramento's top publications," said Rick Johnson, SPCA Executive Director. "It is wonderful to be recognized for the countless hours of compassionate service provided by these dedicated people."

Sacramento SPCA staff and more than 1,300 volunteers will care for over 12,000 homeless animals this year, and will spay/neuter more than 14,000 animals in its high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic. The Sacramento SPCA has been serving the animals and people of the greater Sacramento area since 1894.
