June 29, 2009
(Sacramento, CA ) -- In an effort to place as many homeless cats as possible, the Sacramento SPCA will offer a "Perfect Pairs" adoption discount of $40 for one OR two cats or kittens from Thursday, July 9 -- Sunday July 12. All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip, license, free vet check and more.
"With kitten season in full-swing and the economy forcing people to give-up their pets at an unprecedented rate, the Sacramento SPCA is caring for more cats than ever before," said Rick Johnson, SPCA Executive Director. "Through our Perfect Pairs adoption special, we hope to find adoptive homes for one hundred cats and kittens. And, two cats really can be better than one."
There are many benefits to having two well-matched cats. Cats are sociable animals, and often enjoy the company of another cat. Cats that have been raised together will often form an especially strong bond.
Having a pair of cats can help relieve the boredom and destruction that often comes with lack of stimulation in a single cat household. A pair of cats can provide each other with exercise, social and mental stimulation, and often help with grooming as well. Cats living together have the opportunity to just be cats, playing and interacting with one another, often making them less likely to be destructive.
