• Whether making donations online, or giving us your e-mail or home address, we do not sell or rent our printed or electronic mailing list to any other companies. We use your personal information only in the manner specified when it was collected. For example, we won't use your e-mail address for shelter mailings if you didn't check the box to indicate that you want to receive future e-mail.
• If you ever want to be removed from our printed or electronic email list, simply call, email or write us at the address posted on this Web site.

Use of Cookies

• Cookies are small piece of text that's transferred between your Web browser and our web server. On this website, we use cookies in primarily three applications:
  1. In the View Adoptable Pets areas, we use cookies to see when you last visited the page. Pets that have been added since your last visit are brought to your attention with a special icon.
  2. In any application where you have to use a credit card, cookies are used to identify where you are in the purchasing process. These special cookies are called "session cookies" and are destroyed once the transaction is completed or if you close your web browser window. These applications include, but are not limited to: the Online Donation Form, Dedicate A Brick, Online Membership Form, and online store.

Credit Card Donations or Purchases

• We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.
• We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.
• At no time do we store your credit card number or expiration dates on our servers. Your credit card information will never be viewed by any staff member of the Sacramento SPCA. Your credit card number and expiration date is sent from your web browser directly to our credit card authorization company for processing.
