Pet Request Program

Finding the right pet can be an exhausting process...

Have you unsuccessfully searched shelters, the internet, and rescue groups trying to find just the right pet? Let us help!

Our Pet Request Program has been designed to assist with the often arduous process of making just the right match between adopter and pet. Through our program, potential adopters complete a comprehensive evaluation and then our experienced staff does the searching for you! That's right...we'll search local shelters for pets matching your specific criteria - from energy level and age to breed, color and size. Finding the right fit between people and their pets is critical to fostering lifelong relationships...something we strive to do with each one of our adoptions.

The non-refundable program fee is just $50 for a 90 day search. We will contact you as soon as a potential match is found and it's very important that you return our calls promptly. If you decide you would like to meet the animal, we will place him/her on hold for you.

Remember, the more specific you are about what you are looking for, the more likely we will be able to find your perfect match. Please specify your ideal breeds or breed mixes (for instance, as opposed to asking for "any small dog"), personality traits you desire, and your preferred age range for your new pet. Keep in mind that your "wish list" must be realistic (for example, asking for a 9-week old female Yorkshire Terrier puppy is not realistic, but requesting a friendly Yorkie of either sex under the age of 3 will make a match more likely).

If you acquire an animal from another source, please let us know so that we may discontinue our search for you. If we do find your perfect match and you decide to adopt, we will follow up 30 days after your adoption to see how things are going with your new pet.

To begin the process simply print the appropriate matchmaker questionnaire, below, fill it out and bring it to our Adoptions Desk. Tell our staff you're interested in our Pet Request Program or if you'd prefer, you may FAX your questionnaire to (916) 383-7062 and write Pet Request Program across the top of the form. Make sure to leave a telephone number where you can be reached.
