Lost and Found Pets

The Sacramento SPCA receives 100% of funding from private donations and is limited in space. The Sacramento SPCA accepts stray animals from Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove only.

Stray animals from the City of Sacramento are not accepted at the Sacramento SPCA, but should be taken to the Sacramento City Care and Animal Control, 2127 Front Street, Sacramento, (916) 808-7387. Stray animals from the County of Sacramento are also not accepted by the Sacramento SPCA, but should be taken to Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation, 4290 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento, (916) 368-7387 (PETS). In addition, we do offer lost and found cards where parties who have found or lost an animal can post the pet information.

If you have lost your pet, we understand that it is a heartbreaking, confusing and difficult process. You should check for your lost pet in our facilities at the SPCA in addition to the City and County of Sacramento Animal Care facilities. There are additional government and private shelters located in Yolo and Placer counties.
