Gulf Coast Refugees: In need of your support
Sixty dogs and 25 cats arrived from the flood-soaked Gulf Coast on September 28 adding to the original 26 that arrived earlier in September. Over the next few months we're expecting a steady stream of additional animals.
Every effort will be made to reunite these four-legged victims with their families; the rest we'll place with loving foster-to-adopt homes. Foster parents should be willing to care for an orphaned pet for three to four months, and if the owner is never found, provide a permanent home.
Stranded for days surrounded by contaminated water, many of the animals arrived with serious medical conditions (including heartworm, parasites and open wounds). Won't you please consider making a contribution toward the care of these four-legged hurricane victims? Many of the animals require extensive veterinary care, medicines and dietary supplements. Every donation makes a difference.
