On Your Bark...Get Set...

Doggy Dash 2008!

(No dog necessary to participate.)

Join the Sacramento SPCA and a host of local celebrities for the 15th Annual Doggy Dash, Saturday, May 31! This annual run/walk will be held in beautiful William Land Park, where an estimated 2,500 animal enthusiasts will gather, both with and without canine companions, to raise funds for the animals sheltered at the Sacramento SPCA. For 15 years in a row, two and four-legged participants have attended this event creating a tradition in Sacramento and transforming Doggy Dash into one of the most popular events of the year.

Register today! Whether you choose to bring a canine companion or invite a two-legged friend, mark your calendars and join us for Doggy Dash 2008, and help make a difference in the lives of homeless animals sheltered at the Sacramento SPCA. Register as a solo participant or as a Pledge Pack to receive some dog-gone great prizes.

Make sure to stay after the Dash for Pet Fest 2008 where you can enter your canine pal in the adorable Pup Show, high-flying Frisbee Contest, or the increasingly popular Third Annual Pug Race. Entertaining canine demonstrations will fill the day and leave you anxious for next year's Doggy Dash! In between all this fun, take a stroll down Vendor's Row to visit with pet-friendly businesses, learn about Sacramento area animal rescue organizations, or get samples for either your or your pooch.

7:30 am: Run/Walk registration begins.

8:00 am - 12:00 pm: Pet Fest opens.

9:00 am: Doggy Dash 2K Walk starts.

9:15 am: Doggy Dash 5K Run starts.

Parking

Doggy Dash participants may park in the Sacramento City College parking structure on Sutterville Road.

Get in Shape!

Out of shape? You can't run non-stop for a long time without building up to it and neither can Fido! We've asked Fleet Feet to partner with us and provide a training schedule to help our runners get up to speed! See our Training and Fitness Page for more information!

Registration

Register on-line, in person or by mail no later than May 23. Entry fee is $25 — $30 after May 23 or on Dash Day. Pre-Dash packets will be available at Fleet Feet, 2311 J Street, Sacramento, CA on May 29 and 30 between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Run/Walk in a Pledge Pack!

Team Deadline: May 23*

Gather up your closest animal loving friends and register together as a Pledge Pack! Whether you decide to Pledge Pack with your co-workers, neighborhood association, or the folks from your local bridge club, some of the benefits include VIP parking, custom colored Pledge Pack t-shirts (deadline to register for custom shirts is May 1), a sign to carry during the run/walk with your Pledge Pack name, entrance to the VIP assembly area with complimentary drinks and snacks, a "thank you" plaque and photo.
