Adrienne Maloof's Camp Kindness 2008

NEW for 2008:
Enter the Sacramento SPCA Kids Art Contest! Check out our Kids Art Contest page for details.

Please note: Entering the art contest is optional, and does not affect your enrollment in Camp Kindness.

The Sacramento SPCA's Camp Kindness is a fun-filled way for kids to learn more about dogs, cats, and other companion animals. Camp Kindness is designed to foster awareness about animals, and will include games, crafts, tours, guest speakers, animal-related education, professional demonstrations, veterinary observation, discussions, and plenty of fun!

The Bobbie Wortell Scholarship Program provides funding for children from low-income families to attend. You can read more about the Bobbie Wortell Scholarship Program.

Important Info

Because of the popularity of Camp Kindness, we are taking registration on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications must be received no later than June 15, but we recommend submitting yours as early as possible. Sessions will probably be full prior to the deadline. Your application must be completed in full, and payment must accompany your application.

When your application is received, please allow one week to receive confirmation by mail of your child's enrollment. If Camp Kindness sessions are full at the time your application and payment are received, you will be notified and your check will be returned to you by mail.

Your child must be within the age range for the session(s) you request. We offer two sessions for ages 7-9 and three sessions for ages 10-12 every summer. Please don't ask us to make exceptions for your child to accommodate your family's schedule.

Volunteer Assistant Camp Counselors are needed! Must be at least 14 years old. See our Assistant Camp Counselors page for details and an application.

Questions?

If you have questions, or if you have difficulty downloading an application and would like one sent to you by mail, please contact Dee Dee Drake, the SSPCA's Humane Education Specialist, at (916) 383-7387, ext. 9149, or email humane education. Please do not leave messages asking whether a particular session is full. This page will be updated when a session is full, and it is not possible for us to say over the phone or by email whether there will be space available in a particular session by the time your application arrives.
