Breaking the Cycle of Violence

Abuse/Neglect Investigations >> Breaking the Cycle of Violence

Help Us Break the Cycle of Violence in the Community

Violence against animals is the single best predictor of violence against people. The SSPCA works with law enforcement and violence prevention agencies because most often where there is animal abuse or neglect, there is also abuse of those in the family.

In most cases of serial killers and violent criminals, the abusers got their start by abusing animals as young adults or children.

Our goal with our Humane Education program is to provide outreach and education to both youth and adult groups to teach compassion for all living things.

You can schedule presentations, information tables or shelter tours for your school, church or community organization. Or, you can organize a group volunteer activity to help provide comfort for our shelter animals. Learn more about our Humane Education program.
